Dengue fever is caused by a family of viruses that transmitted through the Aedes mosquitoes. Aedes mosquitoes do not produce the virus themselves. They are merely carriers of the virus. When the mosquitoes bite an infected person, they carry the virus in their body. The virus will be transmitted to their next victims when the mosquitoes bite them.
Physical or noticeable symptoms of Dengue fever include fluctuating high fever up to 39 degree Celsius, dehydration, diarrhoea, body joint pains and internal bleeding in extreme cases such as the Dengue Hemorrhagic fever.
Dengue fever is a very dangerous disease. It has taken many lives in the world. The physical dengue fever symptoms that visible are redness in hand palms and feet solves, loss of appetite, diarrhoea, rashes, gum bleeding, nose bleeding and weakened body. Some patients may only have part of the mentioned symptoms. But that does not mean that they have a lighter version of the fever.
There is no specific treatment for Dengue fever today. The doctors merely monitor and manage the patients’ fever and dehydration levels. The patients need to build up their antibodies to fight the virus. Some take 9 days and some take more than that.
