Lyon have told United that Karim Benzema is not for sale this summer.

“The fax machine isn’t overheating at Lyon,” joked Lyon president Jean-Michel Lacombe. “You can never say never in football, but there’s much ado about nothing at the moment. The idea is still to keep Karim for one more season.” (French League)

Benzema’s agent, Karim Djaziri, has echoed those sentiments.

“Lyon doesn’t need the money, and Karim wants to stay until the World Cup. As far as we’re concerned, we’re not thinking about him leaving.”

Ronaldo has described his record breaking transfer as “historic” followed by his confession that he had “had his time at United.”
