5 Most Memorable Moments From World Cup 2010

July 14th, 2010

World Cup has ended and I still have not get over the excitement and passion. Looking back at what had happened during the World Cup month, I find that there are too many memorable things and moments that will live in my heart which will take some times to settle down.

1. Paul the Great Octopus

Paul the Octopus remains one most memorable thing that I cherish from this world cup. His predictions on world cup matches really thrilled and get me excited. Almost every morning I would search for his news on the newspapers and see whether his predictions really come true. He scored 100 full marks and I am really fascinated by this Octopus who has nine brains. Now I just wonder what would become of him after the world cup. Hope he will be okay and get taken care well.

2.  Referee Blunder

The were many blunders made by the referees this world cup. The most famous one is none other than referee, Stepp Blatter made against England on Frank Lampard’s disallowed goal. I just don’t understand why this man chose to stand on his wrong decision even though the shot by Lampard was shown clearly to have crossed the goal line. He should know that the replay on the T.V. was shown several times to the whole world. He has the choice to reverse his decision before Half Time but he is so damned stubborn to do so. After the incident he has to abandon all  subsequent World Cup matches for safety reason. He is asking for his own troubles.

3.  Big Team Let Down

I would say France and Italy played the worst matches in this world cup. I just could not imagine giant teams like them got to end this way. Very disappointed and angry with them. England also cannot be excused as they played badly and totally disappoints me for supporting EPL every year.

4.  Messy Misses

I am a great fan of Lionel Messi. But I really sad to see him trying so hard to get to the net but still failed. Not that he did not play well enough.  But I am very upset that his team did not reach the Final and he did not score a single goal. My great sympathy to this football genius that has been abandoned by the football god, if any.

5. Buzzing

This world cup got the African’s sound of buzzing plastic trumpets throughout all the world cup matches. You either hate or love it. This buzzing has gone into my history of most hate sound of my life.
