It is estimated that one in every four Americans has hypertension, whether they know it or not. Therefore, it is about 60 million American are at risk for this silent killer that has caused deaths around the world.

The heart has to work harder in a hypertension patient. This cause the heart muscles to enlarge in its desperation attempt to keep the blood flowing around the body. Although there have been many articles written about the causes of hypertension, I think it is worth putting them in my blog again as I hope my sharing will eventually save some lives.

Accordingly to medical studies, there is no one single cause of hypertension. The following are 8 most common causes that trigger the deadly medical condition.

5.  Lack of potassium or calcium in the diet.
