Travelling not necessary need to be spend rift. Sit around a corner and start writing notes about your travel plans and how you intend to spend.
If you have problem figuring the details here are some tips to help you on how to plan your travel budget.
1 – Book accommodation outside of the main tourist areas
Booking accommodation that is 5/10 minutes away from the main tourist areas can be a good way of reducing the amount you spend on your holiday accommodation. Staying slightly outside the main tourist areas is usually significantly cheaper and if you check before hand that there is a good local public transport network in place, getting into the main towns and cities will be quick, easy and inexpensive.
2 – Travel lighter
With some airlines charging travellers for all hold luggage and others setting weight allowances which if exceeded lead to additional charges, packing light is becoming increasingly popular with people looking to cut back on travel costs. It’s tempting to pile all of your clothes into your suitcase but you won’t wear many of the items you pack so try to be ruthless and only take what you need. This will not only save you some money but also make it easier to get around when you have your luggage.
3 – Avoid restaurants aimed at tourists
Restaurants that specifically target tourists are often expensive and don’t always offer a true taste of the country you are visiting. A better option is to ask locals to recommend restaurants that they eat at. It’s more than likely that these restaurants will be cheaper than the restaurants aimed at tourists and more often than not the quality of the food is better in the restaurants that the locals visit.
4 – Follow the money and get the best exchange rate
When choosing a destination you should always consider the exchange rate of each country. At certain times some exchange rates will be more favourable than others so it’s important to do some research before choosing your destination. Having established that a exchange rate is favourable in a certain country and after booking your holiday, it’s now important that you do some research to find the best rate. Exchange rates can vary from one retailer to the next so be sure to shop around and compare rates as the exchange rate will obviously affect how much currency you get for your money.
5 – Avoid costly overseas phone calls
It’s understandable that while you are away you will miss friends and/or family. However, making phone calls on your mobile phones can leave you with a jaw dropping mobile phone bill when you arrive home from your trip. Using your mobile phone could prove to be very costly so it’s important that you either take advantage of local calling cards or switch to a different sim card that is designed for overseas use.
I hope you have pick up some good tips here and look forward to enjoy your holidays.
